Luminous Rest - Meditation & Yoga Nidra Retreat (Copy)

Luminous Rest — Winter Immersion 2026

Yoga Nidra, Meditation & Lymphatic Bodywork

June 26–28, 2026 | Paperbark Camp
571 Woollamia Rd, Woollamia NSW 2540 — Wandra Wandian Country
A beautiful 2.5-hour drive south of Sydney

Following the incredible response to last year’s retreat and the many requests to return, we are once again collaborating with Camilla and the team at Paperbark Camp to offer Luminous Rest 2026.

This next immersion carries the same essence that made the previous retreat so special, while allowing the experience to unfold with greater nuance, refinement and depth.

An Invitation

This is an invitation to tend to the winter fire—to gather and co-create a sacred container, a space woven with the most precious ingredients for renewal. Together, we align with nature’s hum, dissolving tension, and returning to the ground luminosity that is always present beneath the layers of the mind.

The ground luminosity is where we touch down when there’s a loosening of all concepts—when we declutter enough to taste the vastness that is already here.

In the stillness of winter we will receive and embody time-tested contemplative approaches through Yoga Nidra, meditation, the science of the breath, gentle Hatha and Yin.

Together these practices support profound nervous system regulation, recalibration & awakening, allowing the body and mind to settle into deeper states of awareness.

Who Is This Retreat For?

Luminous Rest welcomes those who feel the quiet pull to step away from the constant momentum of life and enter a space where the nervous system can truly settle.

No prior experience with meditation or Yoga Nidra is required. The practices offered are accessible, gentle, and deeply supportive for both newcomers and those already walking a contemplative path.

This retreat may resonate with you if you:

• Feel the need to step out of the endless cycle of doing

• Long for genuine rest and renewal for body, mind and energy

• Are curious to explore meditation and Yoga Nidra in an embodied and approachable way

• Wish to learn timeless tools that support emotional wellbeing and nervous system regulation

• Feel the call to reconnect — with yourself, with others, and with nature

Previously, this retreat has attracted couples, family members, and those seeking time alone. This unique winter immersion welcomes all with warmth and care.

The structure of the retreat honours solitude as much as connection. There are no formal sharing circles, allowing each guest to move through the experience in their own way and remain close to the quiet intelligence of the heart.

The Science of Meditation

Meditation and Yoga Nidra are not only deeply restorative but are increasingly supported by scientific research showing measurable effects on the brain and nervous system.

Studies show that meditation can increase grey matter density in areas of the brain responsible for emotional regulation, memory and self-awareness. Practices such as Yoga Nidra help shift the nervous system away from chronic stress patterns and into parasympathetic restoration, supporting the body’s natural capacity to regulate and restore balance.

These practices therefore support not only deep rest, but also the possibility of expanded awareness and clarity.

A Nourishing & Luxurious Stay

Held at Paperbark Camp, a luxury eco-retreat nestled in the pristine natural sanctuary of Wandra Wandian Country, this is a space to truly recalibrate and receive.

Stay in a luxury safari-style tent with a luxe bed and internal heating, cocooning you in warmth during winter.

Soak in a deep outdoor bath beneath the trees, one of the most loved experiences of the retreat.

Abhyanga oil will be available throughout the retreat for the Ayurvedic ritual of self-massage with warm oil. Guests will be invited to apply the oil, soak in the outdoor bath beneath the trees, and then come to practice by the warmth of the fire. In Ayurveda this is particularly supportive in winter, helping to relieve excess Vata while deeply nourishing the nervous system. This combination of oil, warmth and stillness prepares the body beautifully to receive the deeper states of Yoga Nidra.

Enjoy gourmet meals crafted by the in-house chef, using seasonal and locally sourced produce.

Receive a curated gift bag.

Located just 2.5 hours from Sydney, this secluded sanctuary invites you into deep restoration and connection with nature.

Optional extended stay: Guests are welcome to arrive early or stay an additional night to allow a gentle transition into and out of the retreat experience with a special guest rate.
